FORMER TIGER EISENSCHMID INKS NHL CONTRACT

Medicine Hat, AB — Former Medicine Hat Tiger and German born winger Markus Eisenschmid has signed a 2 year, 2 way NHL contract with the Montreal Canadiens. The winger has spent the last two seasons playing with the Canadiens affiliate the St. John’s Ice Caps after making the team from a professional tryout.

The 21-year-old native of Marktoberdorf, Germany has six goals, 10 points and a plus-6 differential in 32 games with the AHL’s IceCaps this season.

During his first year in the North American pro ranks in 2015-16 Markus¬†amassed one goal and five points in 28 games in St. John’s.

Eisenschmid’s Tiger career spanned 2 seasons in which he played in 106 games collecting 67 points (26 goals, 41 assists).
