VS. RED DEER — The Medicine Hat Tigers host the Red Deer Rebels tonight for their last home game before the Christmas break. The Tabbies faced off against the Tri-City Americans Wednesday night and fell 6-3. The Rebels lost 3-2 in overtime to the Swift Current Broncos last Saturday night. This is the second of six meetings between these two Central division rivals this season. Tigers took the first meeting 5-2.

Tigers – Ryan Chyzowski has already set a career high of 22 points this season with 11 goals and 11 assists and he is not stopping there. Look for the Kamloops, BC product to get the Tigers on the scoreboard. Red Deer Rebels – Grayson Pawlenchuk had a strong performance for the Rebels when they face the Swift Current Broncos last Saturday. Pawlenchuk added a goal and an assist in that game bringing his season total to 10 goals, 16 assists for 26 points so far this season.

Imports:

Linus Nassen was selected in the second round by the Tigers and comes to Medicine Hat via Sweden. Nassen was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the 3rd round of the 2016 NHL entry draft. To go along with playing some big minutes for the Tigers, Nassen has 20 points in 32 games and has formed a deadly offensive combination with David Quenneville, especially on the powerplay. Kristians Rubins, the towering shut down defenceman who was selected by the Tigers in the 2016 CHL Import draft. Rubins has netted 2 goals and 9 assists this season.

Protecting the Paint:

The Tigers acquired 18-year-old netminder Jordan Hollett from the Regina Pats in the offseason. Hollett is a 6th round selection of the Ottawa Senators and currently is sporting a 10-6-1 record with a 3.33 GAA and a .903 SV% The Orange and Black also have veteran goaltender Michael Bullion. Bullion has a 7-7-1 record posting a .874 SV% and a 3.70 GAA.
