CLINCHED: After Wednesday’s win the Medicine Hat Tigers had learned they will be playing hockey past March 18th, having clinched a spot in the 2017 WHL Playoffs. It will mark the 38th time in franchise history the Tigers have reached the post season.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY: This day during the 2000-2001 season the Tigers paid a visit to the Saddledome against Pavel Brendl and the Hitmen. Medicine Hat was heavily outshot, only putting 16 shots on goal. However two first period goals by Ben Thomson (25, 26) had the Tigers out front early. Denny Johnston added a goal in the second before Calgary came storming back with 3 straight goals to tie it early in the second. A late power play for the Tigers was capitalized on by Chris St. Jacques (32) as Medicine Hat was only able to put 2 pucks on net in the period. The Tigers won their 3rd straight game 4-3.

WHO TO WATCH: TigersClayton Kirichenko: Ranking 5th in WHL defenceman scoring, Kirichenko will look to shut down the Warriors top line tonight while chipping in offensively. WarriorsJayden Halbgewachs: Leading the WHL in goals with 44, his break out season is one to watch tonight as he is the Warriors leading scorer with 85 points
