DID YOU KNOW?: The Tigers acquired Tom Lysiak from the Edmonton Oil Kings as the Kings dropped Lysiak before the expansion in 1970.

NHL DRAFTED: Tom Lysiak is one of the highest drafted Tigers in franchise history. During the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft the Atlanta Flames selected Lysiak 2nd overall. Teammate Lanny McDonald went 2 spots later, 4th overall to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

ALL-TIME LEADER: Spending 6 seasons with the Atlanta Flames before being traded in a controversial deal, Lysiak is the Flames all-time leading scorer, scoring 431 points. Lysiak is also the club’s leader all-time in assists with 276.

However 3 straight power play goals to close out the game found it tied 5-5 heading to extra hockey. The game would go to a shootout with the Blazers prevailing 6-5.
