VS. HURRICANES: It all comes down to tonight for the Medicine Hat Tigers as they conclude a hard regular season grind and finish their season series against the Hurricanes. Medicine Hat picked up their 50th victory on the season last night in Lethbridge, a convincing 5-1 win. With the win the Tigers moved to 8-2-0-0 and handed the Canes their third loss in their past 4 games and 6th loss since January 6th.

  • The win also put the Tigers over 100+ points on the year, which is the 7th time in franchise history the mark has been reached
  • James Hamblin scored twice, his 20th and 21st goals on the season, including the game winner
    • Hamblin’s goals allowed the Tigers to have ten 20+ goal scorers on the season, the second most in franchise history

  • Hurricanes forward and leading scorer Tyler Wong had his 13 game point streak come to an end on Wednesday
    • Wong was held pointless last night marking just the 4th time all season that the Canes Captain was held off the scoresheet in back to back game and 1st time since Oct. 21st & 28th
  • Only 4 other Tiger players since the 1996-97 season have reached a +40 rating or higher in one season, currently Clayton Kirichenko has a rating of +50, good for 4th in the WHL

THIS DAY IN HISTORY: In their second last game of the season the Tigers travelled to Swift Current during the 2004-05 season. It was a scrappy game as Derek Dorsett dropped the gloves twice in the game, both times with Broncos skater David Schulz. Darren Helm got the Tigers on the board first with his 10th of the season. Brett Robertson also scored in the second period, his 14th of the year as Medicine Hat played a strong road game backed by Matt Keetley’s 6th shutout of the season for a 2-0 victory.
