  • Since 2002 the Tigers have reached the 2nd Round of the playoffs in all but 2 seasons (13 of 15 years, 87%)
  • John Dahlstromis on a 5 game point streak this post season having recorded a point in every game so far and scoring 4 times

  • Chad Butcheris also on a 8 game point streak dating back to the regular season, in that span Butcher has recorded 5 multi-point games
  • The Tigers come into tonight having won 7 straight games dating back to the last weekend of the season

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The Tigers have been good out of the gate so far this post season. In five games the Tigers have not allowed an opposition goal and have scored 5 times in the opening 20 minutes.

26 YEARS IN THE MAKING: Despite playing 7 games during the regular season the Hurricanes franchise and the Tigers have only met once in the post season. Going all the way back to the 1990-91 season, the Tigers were led by Kevin Riehl and Jason Miller with Lethbridge led by Jason Ruff. In that series the Canes would defeat the Tigers in 7 games.

THIS DATE IN PLAYOFF HISTORY: Throw it back to the 2006 Playoffs. Medicine Hat took on the Saskatoon Blades at the Arena. The game went a thrilling triple overtime. Darren Helm opened the scoring in the second period before Saskatoon scored twice. Derek Dorsett scored his 6th of the playoff to tie the game heading to the third. Medicine Hat trailed late but Roman Psurny buried his 3rd of the playoffs to tie the game with just over a minute remaining. The game stayed tied until the 119 minute mark when Brennan Bosch scored on the power play, it was the Tigers 84th shot of the game on Blades goaltender Anton Khudobin and a 4-3 victory and a 2-0 series lead.

WHO TO WATCH: TigersTigers 4th Line: Ryan Jevne has the only goal of the trio on this line, but the Tigers ‘kids line’ was electric in their opening series with Brandon. Watch for them to bring lots of speed and energy to the Tigers in this series. HurricanesStuart Skinner: The last line of defense for the Hurricanes, Skinner has a 0.926 save percentage in 8 games in the playoffs, he has also faced 30 or more shots in 6 consecutive games

NHL DRAFTED / SIGNED PLAYERS: Matt Bradley (Montreal Canadiens), Nick Schneider (Calgary Flames), John Dahlstrom (Chicago Blackhawks), David Quenneville (New York Islanders)
