HISTORICALLY SPEAKING: The Tigers have won 7 of their last 8 playoff series when tied at 2 games apiece. Medicine Hat has won 6 consecutive series dating back to 2007 (VAN/RD – 2007, SC – 2009, KTY – 2010, BDN – 2011 and SC – 2015) with their last series defeat coming in 2005 against the Prince Albert Raiders.

26 YEARS IN THE MAKING: Despite playing 7 games during the regular season the Hurricanes franchise and the Tigers have only met once in the post season. Going all the way back to the 1990-91 season, the Tigers were led by Kevin Riehl and Jason Miller with Lethbridge led by Jason Ruff. In that series the Canes would defeat the Tigers in 7 games.

THIS DATE IN PLAYOFF HISTORY: Flashback just a few years ago during the 2014 Playoffs as the Tigers were in a 3-2 series deficit with the Kootenay Ice. Game 5 was in Cranbrook and the Tigers got out to the early lead. Miles Koules scored in the first period with his 4th of the post season. The game would stay that way as Marek Langhamer shut the door until the Ice got on the scoreboard with just over 4 minutes remaining. However it was Curtis Valk would score the game winning goal with 36 seconds left in the game to give the Tigers a 2-1 win and forced Game 7 back in the Medicine Hat two days later.
