HISTORICALLY SPEAKING: The Tigers have won 5 of 6 Game 7’s dating back to 1996. Over that span the Tigers have won 5 straight Game 7’s, their only defeat coming in 2003 against the Red Deer Rebels.

EXPERIENCE: The Tigers boast just 3 players on their team who have any Game 7 experience. Matt Bradley, Steven Owre and Chad Butcher were all in the lineup the last time Medicine Hat appeared in a deciding 7th game, April 14th against the Kootenay Ice. Owre was the only one who found the scoresheet.

THIS DATE IN PLAYOFF HISTORY: The Tigers have played once on April 18th in the playoffs since the 1996 season. That year the Tigers met the power house Edmonton Oil Kings in the Eastern Conference Final Game 1. The Tigers couldn’t match the Oil Kings as they had rested after easily defeating Brandon in the semi-finals. The Tigers were coming off a comeback Game 7 victory against Kootenay and ended up falling 8-3 in Game 1.

WHO TO WATCH: TigersMason Shaw: A sure NHL Draft pick this June, Shaw is on a 3 game point streak recording 6 assists in that span. HurricanesEgor Babenko: After a slow start to this series Babenko is on a 4 game point streak, recording 8 points in that span.
