In a game with a lot of coast to coast action, two unanswered goals early in the third period gave the Kamloops Blazers a 3-1 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers.
After Tigers netminder Michael Bullion made a couple highlight reel quality saves, Blazers’ Luc Smith scored on his own rebound to open the scoring late in the first period.
Elijah Brown responded for the Tabbies scoring his first goal wearing Orange and Black in the middle frame. Brown buried Josh Williams’ rebound on a play that originated with Kristian Rubins to tie the game up at 1.
Early in the final frame, Luke Zazula scored on the power play to regain the lead for the home team.
Shortly after, Jermaine Loewen tipped in a shot through traffic from Montana Onyebuchi to seal the 3-1 victory for the Blazers.
Bullion turned aside 32 of the 35 shots faced; while Blazers goaltender Dylan Ferguson stopped 36 of the Tigers’ 37 shots.
The Tabbies are now 26-21-6-0 and will face the Victoria Royals Friday night for the third game of their four game BC road trip.
