VS RED DEER: This will be the third meeting of the season between the Rebels and the Tigers. The Tigers have won both games against the Rebels so far this season, with the last one being a 4-3 shootout win in Red Deer on December 11th. The Rebels are currently 22-10-2-1 giving them 47 points good enough for 2nd in the Central Division and 3rd in the Eastern Conference. The Rebels are coming off a 4-1 loss on Friday ot the Brandon Wheat Kings.

LAST GAME: The Tigers took on the Lethbridge Hurricanes at Co-op Place on Saturday Night. The Tabbies got markers from Dru Krebs (2), Corson Hopwo (8) and Andrew Basha scored his first career goal in the Western Hockey League, but ultimately fell to the Hurricanes by a 6-3 score. Garin Bjorklund made 26 saves in the loss.

 

MILESTONES: Corson Hopwo is closing in on his 100th career WHL point. The forward from Duncan, BC needs only five points to cross that threshold. Tigers Defenceman Dru Krebs played in his 100th career WHL game on Saturday, December 4th vs Brandon. Daniel Baker is now three games shy of playing in his team leading 200th career WHL game. Newcomer Brendan Lee recently played in his 100th career WHL game before being dealt to the Tigers

 

PLAYER TO WATCH: OWEN MACNEIL was acquired by the Tigers in September and immediately fit in with the Tigers culture. MacNeil is a hard working centre that isn’t afraid to compete in the hard areas of the ice. He is one of the top face-off guys for the Tigers and will be called upon in the games biggest moments. The Calgary, AB product has 12 points this season, including 5 goals and 7 assists.
