TIGERS SELECT TWO PLAYERS IN US PRIORITY DRAFT

Medicine Hat, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers selected two players back to back in the 2022 WHL U.S. Priority Draft, selecting Maxwell Silver and Benjamin Davis.

With the┬álast pick in the first round, 22nd overall pick the Tigers selected forward Max Silver. Silver hails from Poway, California and stands 6’0 tall weighing 165lbs. Silver appeared in 70 games between Fairmont Prep and the Fairmont Prep Warriors 14U AAA team. The 2007 born sniper scored 17 goals in 18 games for Fairmont Prep, then registered 51 goals in 52 games for the Warriors in the AAA division. In total Silver finished the season with 68 goals and 30 assists for a combined total of 98 points.

The Tigers would then have the first pick of the second round and selected forward Ben Davis from the Colorado Thunderbirds 14U AAA. Davis, who calls Denver, Colorado home measures in at 5’11 weighing in at 154 lbs. His stats for 2021-22 were not available online.

Tigers Director of Player Personnel Bobby Fox says “We’re excited to draft two dynamic fowards to our group. Both Max and Ben are highly touted down south and we look forward to helping them achieve their hockey goals.”

The 2022 WHL Prospect Draft takes place on Thursday, where the Tigers hold the first overall selection. The last time the Tigers had the first overall pick was 23 years ago, when the team selected Ryan Hollweg.
