This is the first of two meetings between the Prince George Cougars and the Medicine Hat Tigers this season. Last season, Medicine Hat posted record of 2-0-0-0 versus the Cougars (0-0-0-0 at home) and (2-0-0-0 in Prince George). The Tigers outscored the Cougars 14-7 while also outshooting P.G. 79-77. Leading the way for the Tigers was forward Linden Vey (4G, 3A) with seven points, while Wacey Hamilton chipped in with three goals. NOTES: Last season marked the 8th straight season the Medicine Hat Tigers qualified for the WHL Playoffs. 20-year-old Joey Frazer has stepped aside from playing, accepting an Assistant Coach position with the club. Tigers goaltender Deven Dubyk was the WHL nominee for CHL goaltender of the week after posting a 2-0-0-0 record this past week, stopping 67 of 69 shots faced for a 1.000 goals-against average and 0.971 save percentage. Dubyk, a native of Minitonas, MB, back-stopped the Tigers to a pair of wins over the Red Deer Rebels; 2-1 in Medicine Hat on Friday and 4-1 in Red Deer on Saturday. Jace Coyle and Linden Vey are on three game point streaks.
