HITMEN BATTLE PAST TIGERS

   #26 Emerson Etem

2 PP Goals vs Hitmen

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen took down the Medicine Hat Tigers 5-2 on Wednesday night at The Saddledome, snapping the Tigers two game win streak.

After two straight wins, the Tigers headed to Calgary and jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on Emerson Etem’s first goal of the season.

The lead was shortlived, however, as the Hitmen scored three straight goals and took a 3-1 lead into the 3rd period.

Emerson Etem’s second goal of the game pulled the Tigers within one, before the Hitmen managed to put the game out of reach with two more goals of their own.

The night saw Tigers forward Linden Vey (1A) and Jace Coyle (2A) pick up points to extend their point streaks to three games.

In net, goaltender Tyler Bunz (0-2-0-0) stopped 25 of 29 shots in the loss.

Special teams shined on the night for the Tigers as Medicine Hat went 2 for 5 on the power play, while holding the Hitmen scoreless on four man advantages.

With the loss, the Tigers fall to 2-2-0-0 on the season.

The Tigers head home to play the Prince George Cougars on Saturday October 9th.  Game time is 7:30 (MT) and can be heard live on the ATB Financial Tigers Hockey Broadcast (94.5 FM) starting with the pregame show at 7:00 PM with Bob Ridley.
