Oilers Make Pitlick 1st Selection of 2nd Round
Medicine Hat, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers made it official today. Tyler Pitlick has signed with the WHL club and will suit up for the Tigers in the upcoming 2010-11 season.
The Centerville, MN native has left the NCAA Minnesota State University – Mankato after his freshman year where he played in 38 games, scoring 8 goals and adding 19 assists for 27 points.
The Edmonton Oilers with the 1st selection of the 2nd round (31st overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry used it to draft Pitlick. The 6' 1", 190 lbs right handed forward will now hone his skills in the Western Hockey League iand will be a welcomed addition to the Tiger's roster.
"Our organization is very excited to add Tyler Pitlick to our team," said Tigers' gm/head coach Willie Desjardins.
"Tyler plays with a lot of offensive skill and confidence. He wants to make a difference and we feel he will be a tremendous fit with our club," stated Desjardins.
"We are looking forward to Tyler coming in and expect him to be a big part of our team," concluded Desjardins.
Pitlick will join new teammate and fellow 2010 NHL Draft pick Emerson Etem at the 2011 United States Evaluation camp for the upcoming World Junior Championship happening in July.
