PENNER BACK IN THE FOLD

To say Blake Penner was happy to finally return to action might be an understatement.

After sitting for 15 games and about five-and-a-half weeks due to a knee injury, the 17-year-old left-winger made his return to the Medicine Hat Tigers’ lineup for Tuesday’s 1-0 overtime win against the Calgary Hitmen at The Arena.

The local product’s smile was still ear to ear after practice on Thursday knowing he can participate in games again.

“It was a great feeling,” said Penner. “I was excited for awhile, when I got the OK to go.

“It was a really good feeling to be finally back on the ice and help the boys out.”

Penner had a solid start to his sophomore season netting four goals, three assists and a plus-four rating in the plus-minus department in his first 13 games.
