For a first day of on ice sessions, Brad McEwen had no complaints about how the Medicine Hat Tigers rookie camp went.
The Tigers assistant general manager and head scout was one of a number of officials from the team keeping tabs on the two scrimmages and practice sessions at the Family Leisure Centre. He liked what he saw in the scrimmages.
“I thought both were good,” said McEwen. “They both ended in ties, which means the teams are fairly close.
“You expect some of the second years to kind look confident and play confident. I think they have.
“I think Matthew Bradley has had a good session. Connor Hobbs has been good today. We expect those older guys to kind of take control.”
