Medicine Hat, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of a pair of top prospects from the 2013 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.
The Tigers have signed defenceman Marshall Skapski and forward Caleb Fantillo.
Skapski, a defenceman from Abbotsford, BC was was selected in the 3rd round, 54th overall by the Tigers in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. Skapski suited up for the Abbotsford Hawks Bantam A1 Tier 1 squad in the PCBHL last season, notching 6 goals, 34 assists and 60 penalty minutes in 48 games played. Skapski was recently named to the shortlist for Team Alberta’s entry into the Western Canada Challenge Cup U16 tournament.
Also signing with the team is the Tigers 6th round pick from this year’s bantam draft, Coquitlam BC’s Caleb Fantillo. Fantillo captained the Coquitlam Chiefs Bantam A1 Tier 1 club in the PCBHL, notching 50 goals and 83 points alongside 136 penalty minutes in 60 games played. Caleb was selected 123rd overall by the Tigers in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. Fantillo made the shortlist for Team BC’s U16 entry for the Western Canada Challenge Cup.
