Tigers Take Down Broncos

Watch Video Highlights

Medicine Hat, AB – Two goals by 20-year-old Tigers defenceman Thomas Carr was all the Tigers needed as Medicine Hat skated to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Swift Current Broncos in WHL exhibition play on Saturday night at The Arena.

Medicine Hat, who outshot the Broncos 24-17, went ahead 1-0 on Carr’s 2nd period power play goal.  The third year Tiger put the Tigers up by two less than two minutes later with an even strength goal.

In the 3rd period, Swift Current pulled within one on a goal by Graeme Craig, however Tigers netminder Deven Dubyk proved to be too much for the Broncos as the 19-year-old stopped 16 of 17 shots for the win.

Broncos netminder Austin Smith stopped 22 of 24 shots in the loss.

The Tigers improved to 3-1 in WHL exhibition play and are back on the ice against the Calgary Hitmen on Tuesday, September 14th in Strathmore, AB.
